Capt. Rohit Jathan, belonging to the Rajputana Rifles of the Indian army met out students and motivated them to join and make a career in the Indian army. The talk was a roaring success. He spoke about the benefits of joining the army, facilities provided by the government, conditions at work, training process etc.
The day witnessed the students imagination and expertise through an array of exhibits on the theme ‘Science and Technology for Sustainable Development’. Models were both working and non-working with ecofriendly materials. Winners were awarded with cash prize and certificates.
Colours of Commerce
Students were backed by eagerness and charged-up energies after having participated in the exhibition with the theme of finance, transportation and e-commerce. Models were both working and nonworking. Winners were awarded with cash prize and certificates.
Seminar on Careers in Architecture
The emerging importance of architecture was recognized and students were arrange to attended a lecture by Prof. Sanjay Mhatre. The lecture was delivered on topics such as entrance exams, colleges offering architecture courses, job opportunities and practical challenges of the profession. Students listened to the speaker with rapt attention and had head to head discussion too.
Achievements in the field of Science:
Students project named “Home automation control using Wifi” had won 1st prize in working model category and “Agricultural design for 21st Century” have won 3rd prize.
The workshop covered topics like skills of effective communication / business communication. It was a mixture of discussion and games focusing on usage of soft skills. It beguiled the students to learn more and inculcate the learnings of the workshop.
It is very important that young minds are raised to their aspirations in such a way that they are able to capitalize on the opportunities available to them. A guest lecture for the same was organized for the students which raised their confidence and motivation.
Workshop on Financial Education by SEBI
This workshop was intended to spread basic financial awareness among our students. Basics knowledge of Capital market along with the perception of financial planning were the main features of the workshop.
Workshop on Vedic Maths
Vedic Maths is an ancient system of Indian mathematics. Once mastery is gained, the student can carry out calculations mentally. It was an interactive session conducted by the lecturers of our college.
Introduction to Canon Photography
Our students were introduced to this very amazing beautiful world of creativity and discovery through this session, conducted by the representatives of ‘Canon’. They had ‘hands on’ experience with professional cameras provided by the representatives.
Hindi Divas Sports Achievements
On 14th September’2015, the department had organized an inter college competition, “Kavaya ke Rang Yuvavo ke Sang.” In this competition we gave students a golden opportunity to recite their selfcomposed poetry. 25 colleges with 70 students from Mumbai participated. Our chief guest was the assistant editor from the Navbharat Times, Mr. Awadhesh Vyas. The winners of this event were felicitated with cash prize, trophy and certificate.
Seminar-Cum-Workshop on Banking
Being a part of the syllabus, this session mainly focused on basic banking functions, types of bank accounts, loan-advances, deposit schemes etc. Our students could relate to what was being explained as they were already in the process of learning the same.
Annual Sports Day
Our multi-talented students got yet another opportunity to showcase their talent in the ‘annual sports day’. This was held in Prabhodan Thackeray Kreeda Sankulan, Goregaon on 19th January 2016, from 8:30 am to 4:30pm. The event was flagged off by our chief guest Mr. Suresh Samel, Assistant commissioner of custom, central excise and service tax and began with a great deal of zest and enthusiasm. There were track and field events and the sports day ended with a Tug of War
A very sought – after day in our college – it unveils various talents of our students. The competitions held were Nail Art, Mehndi, T-Shirt Painting, Solo Singing & Solo Dance. Other fun filled activities celebrated in college were: friendship day, chocolate day, twins day, neon day, christmas outfit day and indo western day. Our college believes in ‘all work and no play makes a dull day’. All the above activities/days makes the college a happy place to be in.
