In a law College, training the students on the Art of Advocacy is of prime importance and in keeping with this objective the college organized a Moot Court for all the Law Students, wherein the students were exposed to actual conducting of court proceedings.
In keeping with the need to develop presentation skills, the College organized an in-house Debate on the topic “Judicial Collegium vs. Judicial Commission.” The debate assumed a lot of importance in view of the Legislative Act of Parliament to replace the consultation process in appointment of Judges to the Constitutional courts by the Judicial Appointments Commission.
The college also organized an in-house seminar on the topic “ISIS-East Asia Peace Dream or Reality” which drew good participation from the students and papers expressing different views. The Seminar concluded with a lively open-house discussion. The debate and the seminar were aimed at getting students involved with current happenings nationally and internationally.
Supreme Court and Parliament Visit
It was a fun filled trip away from college and home where students had the opportunity to learn in a totally different environment. We had a taste of history with a panoramic view of Supreme Court, Parliament house, Rashtrapati Bhavan and the heritage site of the Taj Mahal in Agra and Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple and Akshardham Temple while in Delhi.
A Court Visit was organized for the student to Dindoshi Court at Goregaon. The students were taken to see the proceedings in the court room which helped them to understand the working and procedure of the court.
